Kingston Canadian Film Festival

Founded in 2001, KCFF is a charitable organization grounded in the belief that Canadian film and filmmakers are distinctive and vital to our culture. We seek to develop an audience for our national cinema by promoting, celebrating and showcasing Canadian film. KCFF is the globe’s largest all-Canadian film festival! Showcasing all genres, KCFF has screened 700+ feature films and 1,000+ short films over the years – some by first time filmmakers, some by Oscar winners. Our programming enriches the lives of our audience and community while promoting tourism, local business and Canadian arts and culture. KCFF has grown to become Kingston’s anchor festival, invoking a sense of pride for its residents and resonating with the film industry and media on a national level. In addition to the films, KCFF welcomes hundreds of special guests for panels, Q&A’s, and guest talks. Some past guests include Gerry Dee, Bif Naked, Gordon Pinsent, Atom Egoyan, Alanis Obomsawin, Eliot Page, Cathy Jones, Deepa Mehta, plus cast from shows like Baroness Von Sketch, Letterkenny, Mr. D, Kim’s Convenience, Trailer Park Boys, Kids in the Hall, and This Hour Has 22 Minutes. The 2024 edition marks KCFF’s 24th year and will take place from February 28 to March 03. As a charitable cultural organization, our mission is to provide access to Canadian film in a dynamic festival setting. KCFF presents screenings, events and activities that provide a fresh experience of Canadian film that, in turn, create an audience that supports and encourages the ongoing development and appreciation of our national cinema and its creators. KCFF also highlights the amazing work of Indigenous directors and story-tellers and amplifies the voices of many other diverse groups living coast-to-coast-to-coast.
