Katie Curnutte has extensive work experience in communications and public affairs. Katie began their career as a reporter for Sentinel & Enterprise in 2003 and later worked as a reporter for The Commercial Record from 2004 to 2007. From 2004 to 2008, they served as the Communications Manager for The Warren Group.
In 2008, Curnutte joined Zillow Group, where they held various leadership positions over the course of 11 years. Katie started as a Senior Manager in Communications and played a crucial role in establishing Zillow's public relations program and building awareness for the company's housing data. Katie then became the Director of Communications, overseeing Zillow's IPO communications strategy and executing high-profile events, including one with President Obama.
Curnutte's responsibilities expanded as they advanced to Senior Director of Communications and Public Affairs. Katie led communications during Zillow's acquisition of Trulia and established an employee communications function. In 2015, they were promoted to VP of Communications and Public Affairs and successfully navigated the company through a multi-million-dollar lawsuit, expanding the size of their team in the process.
In 2018, Curnutte was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President, leading several departments, including consumer public relations, corporate communications, government and community relations, employee communications, and business-to-business communications and marketing. Katie was also a member of the senior leadership team responsible for company strategy and had close relationships with the CEO and other executives.
After leaving Zillow in 2019, Curnutte co-founded Kingston Marketing Group, where they served as the CEO. In 2021, they took on several advisory and board roles, including Fellow at tidemark, Advisor at 75 & Sunny, Independent Board Director at Offerpad, and Board Member at Supernova Partners, where they served on the board of a SPAC that merged with Rigetti Computing.
