Edwin de Backer

Edwin de Backer has extensive experience in engineering roles across various industries, currently serving as an Analysis and Measurement Engineer at Kinkelder BV since May 2014, focusing on high-quality circular saws for the metal and automotive sectors. Prior to this, Edwin held the position of Project Leader for sound, air quality, and external safety at DGMR, advising government and businesses on environmental aspects related to spatial planning. Earlier roles include work as a Failure Analysis Engineer at NXP Semiconductors, an R&D Engineer at Oce, and internships at Philips Lumileds and imec, where research focused on LED technology and solar cells. Edwin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Physics from Fontys Hogescholen and has a VWO diploma with a dual profile in Nature & Technology and Nature & Health from Jan Tinbergen College.
