Kinnerton Confectionery Ltd was formed in 1978.

In 1988, Kinnerton decided to commit itself to a manufacturing base and in 1989 acquired Gilchris Confectionery Ltd. 

In 2005, Zetar PLC (ZTR) purchased Kinnerton Confectionery Ltd, a company set up on the AIM stock market.

On 30th November 2012 Zertus Gmbh acquired all companies in the Zetar Group.
