Justin Samardzic

Justin Samardzic, P.Eng, has extensive experience in the mining engineering sector, currently serving as Chief Mine Engineer at Kinross Gold Corporation since May 2017. In this role, Justin leads the Mine Planning and Engineering teams, focusing on the development of high-quality mine plans and supporting operational engineering evaluations. Previous positions include Manager of Mine Planning, Senior Mine Planner, and Analyst in Operations Strategy, where Justin contributed to mine optimization, design, and strategic scheduling. Prior internships at Franco-Nevada Corporation, Suncor Energy, and Hatch provided valuable experience in business development, project analysis, and short-range planning. Justin holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Toronto.
