Christian Könes

Christian Könes has a diverse work experience with various roles in different companies. Christian is currently working at KION Group as the Region CFO for Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of ITS EMEA Transformation Office at KION Group from April 2021 to April 2023. From January 2020 to March 2021, they held the position of Senior Director Corporate Strategy | Inhouse Consulting at KION Group.

Before joining KION Group, Christian Könes worked at BMZ GmbH International Headquarter as the Head of Corporate and Organizational Development from September 2017 to December 2019. Christian also gained experience as a Member of the Management Board at TÜV Saarland Holding GmbH from September 2016 to February 2017, where they provided strategic investment management for the companies of the TÜV Saarland Group in Germany and abroad.

In addition to these, they worked as a Senior Advisor at Conpair AG from April 2014 to August 2016 and as an Interim-Manager at Metzeler - von der Fecht | Rechtsanwälte + Steuerberater from January 2012 to March 2014. Furthermore, they served as a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers AG from January 2007 to December 2011.

Christian began their career as a Graduand (Diplomand) at ZF Group from August 2004 to July 2005 and as an Intern at ZF Group from August 2003 to February 2004.

Christian Könes attended Nürtingen-Geislingen University (HfWU) from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a degree in Business Law. Christian then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management from Universität Rostock, completing it in 2006. In 2020, they enrolled in the KION Global Executive Program at INSEAD, which they are expected to complete in 2022. Könes has also obtained additional certifications in Business Transformation Management, Certified Accountancy, Project Management, and Restructuring & Insolvency Administration Expert, from institutions such as RWTH Aachen University, IHK Düsseldorf, Haufe Akademie, and Deutscher Steuerberaterverband e.V.
