Mesfin (Mes) Makonnen has over 25 years of professional experience. Mesfin (Mes) began their career in 1994 as a Sr. Systems Integrator at IBM Global Services. In 2000, they joined Dell as a Sr. Complex Programs Consultant and later became a Custom Solutions Engineer. In 2007, they were promoted to Solutions Manager for Rest of Africa and later Sr. Solutions Consultant. In 2011, they were appointed Managing Director for HP Morocco (a), EG French Africa - Emerging Markets and later General Manager for Rest of Africa / Managing Director - HP Ethiopia. In 2016, they assumed the role of General Manager at M B M Consulting. In 2018, they moved to ClearDATA - Secure. Healthcare. Cloud. as a Strategic Account Manager (SAM). In 2019, they were hired by Logicworks as a Senior Solutions Specialist. Most recently, in 2020, they co-founded GoomDATA Benefit Corporation, where they serve as a Board-member and CTO & Co-Founder. Mesfin (Mes) is currently employed as a Sr. Account Executive at Kion since 2022.

Mesfin (Mes) Makonnen's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from The University of Texas at Arlington, obtained in 1994. Prior to this, Mes studied Pre-Engineering (Aerospace) at Eastern New Mexico University. Mes also obtained a High School diploma from Le Lycée Francais De Los Angeles in 1984, and studied French at Lycée Franco Ethiopien Guebre-Mariam, Addis Abeba, Ethiopie in 1982. In addition, Mes has obtained two certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in March 2020, and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in May 2019.
