Alexus Williams is an experienced teaching artist and special education teacher, currently working at Steppenwolf Theatre Company and KIPP Chicago since August 2022 and July 2019, respectively. Previous roles include Volunteer Manager at the University of Illinois Chicago and Undergraduate Research Assistant at both The Ohio State University and The University of Iowa. Alexus has participated in a performing arts program at Trinity/La Mama in New York City, where skills in writing and performance were developed. As a playwright, Alexus had a play produced in a Chicago theater, which garnered media attention. Alexus holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Grinnell College and graduated from Whitney Young Magnet High School with a focus on creative writing.
