Julie Maresco is an experienced educator currently serving as a 5th Grade Writing and Guided Reading Teacher at KIPP Chicago since July 2016, where Julie developed the writing curriculum and leads differentiated guided reading groups. Previous roles include teaching at St. John de la Salle, where Julie created inclusive lesson plans for the 3rd grade and sponsored the National Scripps Spelling Bee, as well as coaching basketball. Julie's earlier experience includes teaching 3rd grade in Montgomery County Public Schools with a focus on Common Core standards and adapting lessons for special needs students. Julie holds a Master's degree in Special Education from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland.
