Rashid Bell has extensive experience in educational leadership and administration. Rashid started their career as a Classroom Teacher in Newark Public Schools through Teach For America, where they taught 4th and 5th grade and facilitated math instruction for grades 3-5. Rashid also provided math tutoring for 3rd and 4th grade students.
After that, Rashid worked as an Assistant Principal at Chicago Public Schools, collaborating with staff to develop and implement elements supporting the school culture and academic model. Rashid ensured a safe and inclusive environment and promoted a positive school culture focused on learning.
Rashid then joined KIPP Ascend Primary School Chicago as an Assistant Principal, overseeing instructional and operational plans for 500 students in grades K-5. Rashid observed teacher instruction, provided feedback and coaching, and aimed for high levels of student achievement.
Currently, Rashid is the Head of Schools for KIPP Chicago Schools, where they serve as the educational leader responsible for managing policies and procedures to create a safe learning environment aligned with the organization's mission and vision. Rashid provides leadership and administration to motivate and support personnel to foster student growth and development in academics and character. Rashid is also the Founder and School Leader of KIPP One Primary.
Rashid Bell earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from Wilberforce University, where they attended from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at National Louis University from 2009 to 2010.
