James Cordes

James Cordes is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in curriculum development and instruction, currently serving as the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction at KIPP Columbus since July 2021. Previously, James held the positions of Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Dean of Instruction, Humanities at Noble Network of Charter Schools from August 2011 to July 2021. James began a teaching career at BASIS Scottsdale, where the 6th-grade ELA curriculum developed under James's guidance achieved top state performance. James also taught at Maret School, focusing on English language and literature for 9th and 10th graders. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Yale University and a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Middlebury College.
