Mekia Love

Mekia Love started in 2005 as a Vice Principal at KIPP DC KEY Academy and was the founding school leader at KIPP DC Lead Academy. She now serves as the deputy chief academic officer for elementary schools. Ms. Love has years of teaching experience in public schools and was awarded the U.S. Department of Education’s American Star of Teaching award in 2007 and The KIPP Excellence in Teaching award in 2008. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and a Master’s degree in educational leadership from National Louis University.
