Brandy Woodard

Brandy Woodard has an extensive work experience spanning various roles in education. Brandy began their career in 2007 as a Science and Spanish Educator at Perspectives Charter Schools and TEAM Englewood. Brandy then served as a Summer School Director at Perspectives Charter Schools in 2008, where they planned and led a network-wide summer school program. In 2011, Brandy became a School Director at Teach For America, leading a summer school for 250 students and managing instructional staff.

Brandy joined Perspectives Charter Schools again in 2012, this time as a High School Instructional Leader. Brandy mentored teachers in best practices and streamlined the HS of Technology by creating a technology vision. Brandy also served as an Assistant Principal, fostering a welcoming environment and positive school culture. In 2015, Brandy became the Secondary School Principal, curating strategies and processes to ensure effective delivery of quality instruction and increasing overall ACT scores.

In 2017, Brandy transitioned to Alliance College-Ready Public Schools- Alice M. Baxter College Ready High School as the TurnAround High School Principal. Brandy created a positive learning environment and enhanced the instructional program to personalize learning for all students. Brandy also restructured the behavioral management system to a positive behavior intervention system.

In 2020, Brandy joined KIPP Public Schools Northern California as the Managing Director of Schools. In this role, they coach principals and other leaders to drive academic results and build strong relationships. Brandy also initiated and developed a regional English Language Development program for K-12 grade bands.

More recently, Brandy has served as an Executive Leadership Coach at the KIPP Foundation and as the Senior Director of Strategy and Innovation at Sown To Grow from 2022 onwards.

Brandy Woodard has a diverse educational background. Brandy obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2001. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Science Education and Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology, which they completed from 2007 to 2009.

In the following years, Brandy engaged in several professional development programs at the Relay Graduate School of Education. From 2015 to 2016, they completed the National Principal Fellowship, focusing on educational leadership. Brandy then pursued the Principal Supervisor Program from 2020 to 2021, enhancing their skills in supervising principals.

Most recently, in 2021 to 2022, Brandy attended the Leverage Leadership Institute at the Relay Graduate School of Education, further bolstering their expertise in educational leadership.

Additionally, Brandy has obtained various certifications to complement their education. In July 2022, they completed the HubSpot Sales Software certification from the HubSpot Academy. Brandy also acquired certification in Preventing Discrimination & Harassment: CA Employees V4.01 2022 from Traliant in the same month and year.

As a lifelong learner, Brandy has consistently pursued educational opportunities to deepen their knowledge and improve their skills in the field of education.
