Elizabeth Tijerina

Elizabeth Tijerina has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Elizabeth started their career in 2011 as a Full-time Primary School Teacher at the Women's Institute for Secondary Education & Research, where they taught Mathematics, English, Science, and Health to underprivileged girls. In 2012, they worked as a Fifth-Grade Math Teacher at Breakthrough San Francisco, supporting low-income students on the path to college.

In 2012, Tijerina also served as a Research Assistant at Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy, where they worked closely with the Director of Undergraduate Public Policy Studies, editing and evaluating research for academic papers.

From 2013 to 2014, Tijerina was a Development Operations Associate at the KIPP Foundation. Elizabeth'sresponsibilities included managing data, communications, and administrative support activities for fundraising efforts.

In 2014 and 2015, they advanced to the role of Development Specialist at the KIPP Foundation, where they focused on external engagement and event logistics. Elizabeth conducted prospect research, prepared materials for external meetings, and supported the execution of KIPP's annual gathering.

Tijerina then joined KIPP Bay Area Public Schools in 2017 as the Assistant Principal of Operations at KIPP Excelencia Community Prep. In this role, they oversaw all business and operational functions of the school.

In 2019, Tijerina moved to Turnaround for Children and served as a Special Assistant (Deputy Chief of Staff) until 2022.

Finally, in 2022, Tijerina became the Director of Operations at KIPP Public Schools Northern California.

Throughout their career, Tijerina has demonstrated a passion for education, organizational management, and strategic development.

Elizabeth Tijerina pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy at Duke University from 2009 to 2013. After a brief break, they furthered their education by enrolling in the Developing Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals at Columbia Business School in 2016.
