Judy Lavi

6th Grade ELA Teacher at KIPP Northern California

Judy Lavi is an experienced educator who has worked in various roles throughout their career. Judy began their career in 2007 as a Corps Member with Teach for America. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as a 2nd Grade Teacher at East Oakland PRIDE Elementary School. In 2011, they joined Rocketship Public Schools as a Literacy Teacher and later became an Assistant Principal from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2018, they served as the Principal at Rocketship Public Schools. Since 2018, they have been working as a 6th Grade ELA Teacher at KIPP Public Schools Northern California. Judy Lavi's experience spans teaching, leadership, and curriculum development.

Judy Lavi attended Teachers College, Columbia University from 2010 to 2011, where they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Education Leadership through the Summer Principals Academy. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Pennsylvania from 2003 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. In 2006, Judy Lavi participated in a semester abroad program at the University of Nairobi, focusing on History, Government, and Politics.
