Tessa Flaro

Tessa Flaro has a diverse work experience. Tessa started their teaching career in 2018, working as an Online Teacher and Teacher at the Institute of Reading Development. In 2019, they worked as a Sales Associate at Orangetheory Fitness and then as an Au Pair, taking care of two children in a bilingual family in Paris and focusing on their English-language skills development. Tessa also worked as a Web Content Writer at INSIDR.co and as an Online Reading Teacher at the Institute of Reading Development.

Tessa joined Teach For America in 2021 as a Corps Member after being selected from a large pool of applicants. Tessa spent two years teaching in under-resourced public schools while participating in professional development activities and training programs to enhance their teaching skills.

In 2022, Tessa worked as a Summer School Teacher at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula. Tessa then joined the West Contra Costa Unified School District as a 5th Grade Teacher in 2021, where they led a diverse classroom while also taking on additional responsibilities such as organizing school events and serving on various teams.

Currently, Tessa is working at KIPP Public Schools Northern California as a 4th Grade Teacher, starting in 2023.

Tessa Flaro has a diverse education history that spans several institutions and fields of study. Tessa began their academic journey at Lakewood High School, where they obtained a High School Diploma in general education in 2014. Following this, Tessa attended San Francisco State University in 2014-2015, majoring in International Relations and Affairs as part of their general education studies.

In 2015-2016, Tessa Flaro attended Long Beach City College, earning an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in History. The following years, from 2016 to 2018, Tessa pursued their undergraduate studies at UCLA, specializing in History, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.

Tessa continued their academic journey at The University of London Institute in Paris from 2019 to 2020, focusing on Urban History and Culture. During this time, they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree. Building upon their previous studies, Tessa is currently enrolled at National University, where they will be pursuing a Master's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from 2021 to 2023.
