Jim Manly is an experienced education leader currently serving as Chief Schools Officer at the KIPP Foundation since January 2024, following a tenure as Superintendent at KIPP NYC from May 2015 to January 2024. Manly has a strong background in charter school education, having been the Founding Principal of Success Academy Charter Schools from September 2007 to May 2014, where Manly established a high-performing elementary school in Central Harlem. Prior roles include Principal at Manhattan Charter School and Assistant Director at Teaneck Community Charter School, as well as Junior High School Teacher at M.S. 321X within the New York City Board of Education. Manly holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Union College.
