Founding Ethnic Studies Teacher And Librarian at KIPP SoCal Public Schools

Jessica Centeno has a diverse work experience in the education field. Jessica has worked as a Cal TPA Assessor at Pearson since 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Founding Ethnic Studies Teacher and Librarian at KIPP SoCal Public Schools starting in 2022. In this role, they taught Ethnic Studies to students in grades two through four and was also the grade level lead for enrichment teachers.

Before joining KIPP SoCal Public Schools, Jessica worked as a Teacher at TEACH Public Schools from 2020 to 2022. Jessica also worked as a Teacher at the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 2016 to 2020. Additionally, they served as a Teacher for Camp JPAC at Special Needs Network, Inc. in 2019, where they were the lead teacher and created a STEM-focused unit plan for children with special needs.

Jessica's earlier experience includes working as a Substitute Teacher at the Lennox School District from 2015 to 2016.

Jessica Centeno earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Mount Saint Mary's University, completing their studies from 2010 to 2014. Jessica later pursued an Induction Program in Education at the same university, which they undertook from 2017 to 2019.
