Kenya Fox, M.S.Ed has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Kenya started their career at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP as a Benefits and Payroll Clerk, where they handled various administrative tasks related to payroll and benefits. After that, they worked at Harlem Children's Zone as a tutor at the Employment and Technology Center, assisting high school students with subjects like Earth Science and Biology.
Kenya then transitioned into the field of education, starting as a teacher at Victory Schools, specifically at Sisulu Walker Charter School. Over the course of their time there, they worked as an assistant teacher before becoming the 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher. Subsequently, Kenya joined Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy II, teaching 4th grade and focusing on subjects such as reading, writing, math, and social studies.
Following their time at Harlem Children's Zone, Kenya became a Middle School Science Teacher at Success Academy Harlem 4, where they taught multiple classes daily, including third grade and kindergarten. Kenya utilized the 5 E model to teach scientific concepts and promote inquiry skills among their students. Kenya continued their teaching career at Success Academy Charter Schools, where they primarily taught 6th grade and 5th grade, implementing the 5 E model and fostering student growth.
More recently, Kenya worked as a Science Department Chair and Middle School Science Teacher at Kipp South Fulton Academy, providing leadership and guidance in the science department.
Currently, Kenya holds the position of Science Content Lead and Middle School Science Teacher at KIPP SoCal Public Schools, where they continue to contribute their expertise in science education.
Throughout their work experience, Kenya has demonstrated a passion for education and a commitment to fostering student learning and growth in various subjects.
Kenya Fox, M.S.Ed, began their education journey at The City College of New York where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from 2003 to 2005. Afterward, they enrolled in the City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College, where they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from 2009 to 2011.
Kenya has also obtained several additional certifications to further enhance their professional qualifications. In 2016, they earned the NYS Childhood Education (1-6) Professional Certification from the New York State Education Department. In 2020, they obtained the Georgia Professional Early Childhood CertificationSRT L5 from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. More recently, in August 2022, Kenya obtained the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
