Sonia No has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Sonia began their career as an English Instructor at Chungdahm Learning in 2004 and then transitioned to working as an ESL Teacher at North Brunswick Twp Schools from 2006 to 2008. In this role, they served as a Pull-Out ESL Teacher for K-5 students and also taught Language Arts/ESL for grades 3-4. Sonia then worked as an ESL Teacher at Fort Lee Public Schools from 2008 to 2010. Following this, they joined the New York City Department of Education as an ESL Teacher from 2010 to 2016. Their most recent position was as a 1st grade teacher at KIPP LA Schools, a role they held from 2016 onwards.

Sonia No obtained a BA in Linguistics from Rutgers University from 1998 to 2002. Sonia then pursued a Master's degree in Elementary Education with a focus on ESL from Rutgers University from 2003 to 2006. In 2009 to 2010, Sonia studied Multilingual & Multicultural Studies at New York University, but did not obtain a degree. In addition to their degrees, Sonia has obtained various certifications including Multi-Subject Teacher from the California Department of Education, NJ ESL Teacher Certification from the NJ Department of Education, NJ Elementary Teacher Certification from the NJ Department of Education, and NY ESL Teacher Certification from the NY Department of Education.
