Sunshine Durham has a diverse work experience that spans different roles and organizations. Sunshine started their career as an Avid Tutor at Orange High School in 2016. In 2017, they worked as a Student Assistant at the Blind Children's Learning Center and then as a Team Leader at Galileo Learning. In 2018, they became an Intervention Specialist at the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and also joined Teach For America as a TFA Member. As a TFA Member, they taught students with disabilities in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2020, they transitioned to the Los Angeles Unified School District as an Intervention Specialist, where they contributed to the development of individualized education plans and supported student growth. Currently, in 2022, they are working as a Special Education Teacher at KIPP SoCal Public Schools. Throughout their career, Sunshine has been dedicated to ensuring educational equity and supporting students with disabilities.
Sunshine Durham completed their Bachelor of Arts - BA degree in Elementary Education and Teaching at Chapman University from 2014 to 2018. Sunshine also earned a Bachelor's degree in Education during the same period. In August 2020, they obtained an Educational Certificate: K-12 (Ed:) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
