Riley Gelwicks

Riley Gelwicks has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Riley currently serves as an Enterprise Software Architect at Kipu Health since April 2022. Before that, they worked as a Senior Full Stack Developer & Team Lead at the same company from November 2018 to June 2022.

Prior to Kipu Health, Gelwicks was a Full Stack Developer at Stela - Comics for Your Phone from March 2016 to November 2018. Riley contributed to various projects, such as maintaining and developing new features for the company's legacy Ruby on Rails app and implementing the front-end web client of a previously mobile-only app. Riley also played a role in the implementation of the company's website redesign and created a Facebook Messenger Bot for marketing and customer outreach.

Gelwicks also gained experience as a Full-Stack Web Developer at General Assembly from September 2015 to December 2015. During this time, they completed a 12-week intensive Web Development program and worked on projects, including developing a price tracking app for credit card reimbursements.

Before General Assembly, Gelwicks worked at BreakoutBit as a Generalist/First Hire from October 2014 to August 2015. Riley was involved in building a new mobile publishing business and bridging communication between the tech and design teams. Gelwicks also designed core UX hooks for the company.

Riley'sprevious experience includes working as an Overseas Marketing and Product Manager at Locojoy Games from February 2013 to September 2014. Riley helped establish the company's presence in the United States and worked on bringing their games to the global market. Additionally, Gelwicks served as a Project Manager and Localization Project Manager at Renren Games from July 2012 to January 2013 and from March 2011 to July 2012, respectively. In these roles, they coordinated between international teams, managed game production projects, and successfully localized Chinese games into English.

Gelwicks also has experience as a Service Planner at Nciku.com from June 2009 to March 2011, where they edited and maintained a Chinese/English dictionary and worked on service updates. Riley worked as an English Instructor at Shengda College from August 2007 to March 2009, teaching English grammar, conversation, and speaking to over 200 students per semester. Gelwicks also performed interviews to vet potential new hires at the college.

Earlier in their career, Gelwicks worked as a Technical Recruiter at Apex Systems Inc. from June 2006 to February 2007.

Riley Gelwicks attended Pine Crest School from 1995 to 2002, however, no specific degree or field of study was provided. From 2002 to 2006, Gelwicks studied at the University of Florida and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In 2015, Gelwicks attended General Assembly for a Web Development Immersive course, although no degree information was given.
