Stephen Glynn has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and project management. Stephen started their career as a Commercial Plumber at James Likely Ltd in 1997 and worked there until 2007. From 2007 to 2008, they served as a Geo-Thermal System Installer at Nutherm Galway Ltd, overseeing the installation of over 30 heating systems in residential properties. Stephen then joined Hunter Facilities Management as a Commissioning Specialist from 2011 to 2013, where they reviewed design documentation, conducted site inspections, and performed functional testing of HVAC systems.
In 2013, Glynn became a Commissioning Consultant at CDML Consulting Ltd, responsible for implementing and managing the commissioning process for various projects. Stephen also performed energy audits on existing buildings. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as a Project Manager - Technical Services at QuadReal Property Group, where they were responsible for the financial and technical performance of projects. Stephen successfully completed projects such as replacing steam-water heat exchangers and conducting extensive lighting retrofits for energy savings.
In 2020, Glynn joined Durham Region as a Project Coordinator, where they assessed potential sites for future Paramedic Services stations and was involved in managing the pre-design activities for new construction projects. Currently, they are working at Kirby Group Engineering as a Mechanical Project Engineer, contributing to an expansion project for an international pharmaceutical company. Stephen'sresponsibilities include producing RFQ packs for materials and equipment and evaluating RFQ returns for compliance.
Stephen Glynn's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Building Services Engineering from Munster Technological University, which they obtained in 2011. Prior to that, they also attained a Trade Cert in Plumbing from the same institution.
In addition to their formal education, Stephen has obtained various certifications. In 2019, they earned the Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP) certification from ASHRAE. In 2013, they received the LEED AP Operations + Maintenance certification from the Canada Green Building Council - CaGBC. Stephen is also a certified Plumber, having obtained the Certificate of Qualification from the Ministry of Training, Ontario in 2013. Furthermore, they have certifications in Oil Firing Technician, including OFT-101 Service, Commissioning & Fault Finding Technician, OFT-105E Oil Fired Appliances, and OFT-600A Advanced Oil Storage Installation, which were obtained in 2007 from OFTEC. Lastly, Stephen holds the Gas Installer Domestic (GID) certification from FETAC (Further Education and Training Awards Council), which they obtained in 2006.
