Sara Wells has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to the present. Sara started their career as an Emergency RN at Decatur Memorial Hospital and later transitioned to the role of Illinois Heart Specialists Clinic RN, where they coordinated care for cardiac patients. At Decatur Memorial Hospital, they also worked as a Cardiac Cath Lab/Vascular Lab RN, managing patient flow and serving as the Charge nurse.

In 2013, Sara joined Kirby Medical Center, where they held multiple roles. Sara began as a Patient Care Coordinator/ADON, where they served as the Assistant Director of Nursing, Stroke Coordinator, and Assistant Infection Preventionist. Sara obtained the center's designation as an Emergent Stroke Center and organized nurse education related to Joint Commission and CMS standards. Later, they became the Clinic Director, overseeing cross-functional teams and daily clinic operations.

Sara also has experience in education. Sara served as an Adjunct Professor at Lincoln College-ABE and is currently an Advisory Council Member at Parkland College Community Education.
