Rich Sunderland has held various roles in the technology industry since 2003. Rich began their career as a PhD Student: Biological Inspired Robotics at the University of Southampton, where they developed a rigid body simulator in C++, MathEngine, and Matlab. This simulator demonstrated convergent-force-field-control, a technique used by most vertebrates, to control the reaching movements of a two degree of freedom arm. From 2006 to 2017, they held various roles at 1Spatial, including Architect, Lead Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. In 2017, they joined KironTech UK Ltd as CTO and Chief Engineer.
Rich Sunderland attended the University of Southampton from 1998 to 2003, where they earned a MEng degree in ElectroMechanical Engineering.
