Carlos Pope has work experience in various fields and industries. Carlos began their career in 2002 as a Special Education teacher at Sampson County Schools, where they worked until 2004. Following this, they joined Clinton High School as a coach, a position they held until 2013. In 2014, Carlos became a Basketball Official at NCHSAA. Carlos'smost recent role was at Kisco Senior Living, where they worked as a Wellness Coordinator and Transportation Lead since 2017.

Carlos Pope received an Associate's Degree in General Studies from the University of Mount Olive in 2013-2014. Prior to that, they attended Clinton High School from 1984-1988.
