Derek Watson

Derek Watson has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Derek began their career as an Administrative Assistant at Hall & Company in 2012 and then worked as an Inside Sales Representative at Avalara in 2015. In 2016, they transitioned to the maritime industry, serving as a Crewman at Star Marine Inc. for several years. During this time, they gained valuable skills in effective teamwork, communication, and equipment maintenance. In 2020, they briefly worked as a Freelance Web Developer, building websites for friends and small businesses. However, due to the lack of consistent work, they decided to pursue a degree in Computer Science and enrolled in school in 2022. Derek briefly worked as a Carpenter at Cedarwing Builders from 2021 to 2022, demonstrating their attention to detail and precision in creating high-quality living spaces. Currently, Derek is working as a Software Developer at Kitsap Credit Union, starting in 2023, where they continue to expand their technical skills in the field.

Derek Watson's education history includes a variety of experiences in different fields of study. In 2010, they began their Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Communication at Washington State University, which they completed in 2014. In 2018, Derek obtained a Zertifikat Deutsch / telc Deutsch B1 in the German Language from Inlingua Sprachschule Würzburg. Derek furthered their language skills by earning a Goethe-Zertifikat B2 in German Language from Volkshochschule Würzburg in 2020. In the same year, they attended the University of Washington to complete a Web Development Boot Camp Certificate. Most recently, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, starting in 2022 and is expected to complete it in 2023.
