Kate Sheldon serves as the President of the Maine Council for the Social Studies since June 2015 and has been a dedicated Teacher at the Kittery School Department since September 2002, where responsibilities include integrating technology into language arts and social studies curriculum while also coaching field hockey and basketball. Previously, Kate held the position of Senior Reader/Table Leader at Measured Progress from 2005 to 2011, ensuring the accuracy of state assessment scoring, and taught 6th grade at Scarborough Middle School from August 2001 to July 2002. Early in the career, Kate provided administrative support as a Legal Secretary/Receptionist at Williams, Wyckoff & Ostrander, PLLC from 1997 to 1999. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Maine and a Bachelor of Arts in US History and Literature from The Evergreen State College.
