Maya Chorengel

Maya is Senior Partner, Impact, and the Financial Services Sector Lead at The Rise Fund. The Rise Fund is committed to achieving social and environmental impact alongside competitive financial returns by partnering with creative entrepreneurs to build successful businesses that drive meaningful measurable, positive change.

Maya currently serves as a Director of Varo Money, Kiva, GloboKasNet, and Nithio. She also serves on the Industry Advisory Council of the U.S. National Advisory Board on Impact Investing (NABs), and the Advisory Boards of the Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Initiative and CASE i3 at Duke University. Maya has over 20 years of private equity, venture capital, and impact investing experience in the U.S. and emerging markets, including co-founding the leading venture impact firm, Elevar Equity, and previously working at Warburg Pincus. Maya earned an A.B. in Social Studies from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
