Finnur Torfason

Finnur Torfason has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Finnur is currently employed as a Back End Developer at Kivra since September 2021.

Before that, Finnur worked as a Co-Founder at ifdef from May 2018 to October 2022. Finnur was responsible for establishing and managing the company during this time.

Prior to ifdef, Finnur worked as a Firmware Engineer at BlueAccess AB from April 2016 to May 2018.

Finnur also gained experience as a Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions from May 2015 to February 2017. In this role, they developed solutions using languages such as C, C++, Erlang, Bash, and Perl, primarily for Dimetra systems in the Zone Controller team.

Before joining Motorola Solutions, Finnur worked as a Research Assistant at DTU Elektro, Center for Playware from November 2012 to June 2014. Finnur'smain responsibilities included maintaining and improving a code base for an embedded system called Modular Interactive Tiles.

Finnur completed their M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark from September 2010 to October 2012. During this time, they also worked as a part-time research assistant at the Center for Playware.

Furthermore, Finnur obtained a summer job at Skipalyfta Vestmannaeyja in 2011 and worked as an industry worker at Skinney-Þinganes from 2003 to 2010.

Additionally, they performed the role of an Electrical Engineer B.Sc. at Orkuveita Reykjavíkur from May 2008 to September 2008.

Finnur Torfason completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Háskóli Íslands from 2005 to 2009. Finnur then pursued a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 2010 to 2012.
