Tobias Lygren

Tobias Lygren has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Tobias is currently the Co-Founder & CTO at klaep, a position they have held since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Application Engineer at Toposens from September 2020 to May 2021. Before that, they served as an Autonomous Systems Engineer at STTech GmbH from March 2020 to July 2020.

Tobias also worked at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. where they held various roles. From October 2016 to September 2018, they were a Senior Engineer in Vehicle Intelligence, focusing on planning and decision making for autonomous driving. Tobias also worked as a Vehicle Intelligence Engineer from June 2015 to October 2016.

Earlier in their career, Tobias gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America, Inc. in 2014. Tobias also served as a Research Assistant at FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik from August 2013 to July 2014 and at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) / University of Karlsruhe (TH) from February 2012 to July 2013.

Tobias started their professional journey as a Software Engineer at SICK AG in October 2010, where they worked on SW development in the field of RFID. Tobias also had internship phases as a Cooperative Education Student at SICK AG, gaining experience in various areas such as web-based conference organization, production management, product development database, and laserscanner test automation.

Tobias Lygren obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Information Technology from Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) between 2007 and 2010. Tobias then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Tobias also obtained certifications in Deep Reinforcement Learning and Deep Learning from Udacity in November 2019 and May 2019, respectively.
