Mahesh Paolini-Subramanya has over 25 years of experience in the technology sector. Mahesh began their career in 1994 as CTO/VP Development at Proxicom, Inc., an interactive agency that developed custom-tailored interactive and web-enabled solutions for Global 1000 organizations. In 1997, they joined Neoglyphics, Inc. as VP Development & Business, where they established the Financial Practice for the company and developed the first comprehensive set of frameworks and processes for the deployment of Java-based, mission-critical systems in the Financial sector. Neoglyphics was acquired by Renaissance Worldwide for $63 million in 1998.

In 1999, Mahesh joined Vocalocity and Aptela as co-founder and CTO, two of the leading providers of mission-critical, hosted-PBX and video-communications services for businesses. After their merger in 2011, they were acquired by Vonage and is the present day Vonage Business. In 2001, Aptela released one of the first cloud communications services in the small business space, and in 2003, released its first Voice as a Service (VaaS) product, which was adopted by over 3,000 businesses.

In 2012, Mahesh joined Ubiquiti Networks as V.P. R&D, Managing Director (Poland). Ubiquiti Networks is a $20B provider of high-performance networking technology for service providers and enterprises worldwide, primarily in under-served and emerging markets. Mahesh was responsible for AirCRM\u2122- the massively-scaled cloud-based control and back-office suite for Ubiquiti\u2019s industry leading AirMax\u2122 product line, as well as UniFi Video\u2122 - the hardware, software, and services that support Ubiquiti's video streaming platform.

In 2015, Mahesh joined cielo24 as EVP Engineering. Cielo24 is the leading provider of Media Intelligence, and Searchable Captions for video in the Enterprise - News, Entertainment, and Education - market, with customers including The Wall Street Journal, VICE Media, Kaltura, and Coursera amongst others. Mahesh was responsible for building and delivering Cielo24's SaaS platform, which provides Video and Audio Intelligence as well as hybrid captioning solutions at scale utilizing a combination of Machine Learning, Automated Speech Recognition (ASR), and on-demand labor.

In 2016, Mahesh joined Factom as CTO / EVP Engineering. Factom\u2019s highly performant Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) provides applications with an immutable, distributed, blockchain back-end. Its applications include compliance, identity, deep learning, transparent assets, and securities. Customers include the Department of Homeland Security, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In 2018, Mahesh joined BlockFi as CTO. A bona-fide unicorn at the time, BlockFi was the fastest FinTech to reach a market-cap of $4B. Bridging the worlds of traditional finance and crypto, BlockFi provided wealth management products, crypto accounts, and low-cost credit products to a client-base of over 500K, and with over $15B in AUM. It brought additional liquidity to the blockchain asset sector and met the needs of both individuals and institutions holding blockchain assets worldwide.

Mahesh Paolini-Subramanya completed their B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur between 1982 and 1986. Mahesh then went on to pursue an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Notre Dame between 1986 and 1988. Prior to this, they attended Kendriya Vidyalaya from 1976 to 1982.
