Esben Skovenborg

Esben Skovenborg is a Principal Research Engineer at Music Tribe, specializing in algorithm design, AI, machine learning, and signal processing for music analysis since May 2015. From 2009 to 2015, Esben served as Chairman of the P/LOUD Metering Sub-group at the EBU, contributing to international standards for loudness control in broadcasting and streaming. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Research Engineer at TC Electronic, focusing on loudness technology, musical signal processing, and strategic innovation. Esben was also a Research Engineer at TC Group Research, co-inventing the PolyTune technology and leading research for the Radar Loudness Meter. Earlier, an Industrial PhD Fellowship at TC Electronic A/S facilitated research merging audio signal processing with machine learning. As a consultant in the 1990s, Esben developed the AcuBase expert system for acupuncture practitioners. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Aarhus University and advanced degrees in Computer Science and Music Technology from various esteemed institutions.
