John Anton Elmquist has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. John Anton began their career in 1995 as the President/Lead Developer at Smart Forms Corporation, where they developed software products for architects and engineers. John Anton then worked as a Contractor at Sapphire Technologies in 2007 before joining L.L.Bean as a Senior Web Developer, responsible for web content development and deployment.
In 2012, John joined Thomson Reuters as a Senior Software Engineer, where they played a key role in high-profile projects for the Eikon platform. John Anton developed the application framework and user interface for the Eikon Power Curve, a visualization tool for power market pricing. John Anton also adapted a big data algorithm for predicting destinations of LNG tankers.
John's experience also includes roles as a Front-End Developer at The Future Group ASA and as an Actor at Maipo Film. John Anton then worked at 24Nettbutikk as a Lead Front-End Engineer before returning to Klaveness Digital as a Lead Front-End Developer. Most recently, they served as the Head of Frontend Development at Maritime Optima.
Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in various programming languages and technologies, including HTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, and SQL database design.
John Anton Elmquist completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at Emory University from 1986 to 1990. John Anton then pursued further education at the University of Cambridge from 1988 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in ASNAC. Elmquist continued their studies at Freie Universität Berlin from 1990 to 1991, focusing on Semiotics and Communication Theory. Lastly, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Performance Studies at New York University from 1992 to 1994.
