Leora Kirk, PHR, SHRM-CP

Leora Kirk, PHR, SHRM-CP has a diverse range of work experience in human resources. Leora currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Maine Employee Benefits Council, beginning in March 2018. Prior to this role, Leora worked as a Consultant at KMA Human Resources Consulting starting in March 2017. At KMA, they provided HR support to growing companies in Maine and New England by handling various HR functions, such as compliance, employee relations, and talent management.

From February 2014 to March 2016, Leora was a Senior Human Resources Generalist at Schlotterbeck & Foss. Leora oversaw the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including employee relations, recruitment, training, safety, and compliance. Leora also managed HR data in HRIS.

Earlier in their career, Leora was a Human Resources Generalist at Catholic Charities Maine from June 2010 to February 2014. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining employee data, handling benefit administration, and managing reporting for Worker's Compensation and OSHA.

Leora's first HR role was at Hannaford Bros. Co., where they worked from June 2007 to June 2010. Initially starting as an Interim Front End Manager, they quickly transitioned to becoming a Bakery Assistant Manager and Payroll Administrator. In this role, Leora supervised daily production practices, ensured compliance with company policies, and managed payroll for multiple stores.

Leora Kirk, PHR, SHRM-CP has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine. Leora also holds an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities from Southern Maine Community College. Leora has obtained several certifications including a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Leora also holds a PHR certification from HRCI and SHRM obtained in December 2012, as well as a SHRM-CP certification from SHRM obtained in August 2015.
