Jim Passarelli

Jim Passarelli has extensive work experience in the U.S. Coast Guard, spanning over 20 years, and has held various leadership roles. Jim has experience as the Director of Business Development for KMS Solutions, LLC, and as the USINDOPACOM Oceania Plans and Policy Chief, responsible for developing strategies to counter threats to national security interests in Oceania. Additionally, they served as the Chief of Staff for the Seventh Coast Guard District, where they managed various operational tasks, including financial management for an operational region. Jim was a Commanding Officer for USCGC WAESCHE and USCGC CONFIDENCE, leading a crew and executing missions related to national security and search and rescue operations. Jim also held various roles within the U.S. Coast Guard, including Chief of Compliance and Audit Remediation and Executive Officer, USCGC VIGILANT, responsible for developing acquisition requirements for the Coast Guard's deep-water fleet. Lastly, they began their career as a Lieutenant in 1992 and served as a Commanding Officer from 1999 to 2001.

Jim Passarelli has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from US Coast Guard Academy, which they obtained in 1992. Jim later pursued a Master of Science degree in Operations Research/Management Science at George Mason University from 2001 to 2003. Jim then attended MIT Sloan School of Management and earned an MBA degree in 2009. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including NIMS Type II Incident Commander from the National Incident Management System in June 2019, Certified Governmental Financial Manager from AGA (Association of Government Accountants) in September 2015, and a Licensed Student Engineer certification from the State of Connecticut in May 1992.
