Maedhbh Scanlon has extensive experience in the field of instructional design and product management. Maedhbh began their career in 2002 as a Science Teacher at Blackrock College in Dublin. In 2004, they moved to Coláiste Chroi Mhuire in An Spidéal, Co na Gaillimhe, where they worked as a Chemistry, Science and Maths Teacher. In 2005, they took a job at Coláiste na Coiribe as a Physics and Honours Maths Teacher, where they introduced new constructivist teaching methodologies and integrated new and innovative technologies into the classroom.
In 2010, Maedhbh Scanlon moved to SkillSoft as a Learning Designer, where they used leading instructional design/learning theory methodologies to design eLearning programmes for IT skills and collaborated with internationally dispersed cross-functional content development teams to monitor and oversee overall quality of products. Maedhbh then worked as a Freelance Web and Graphic Designer in 2011.
In 2012, Maedhbh Scanlon joined Firecrest Clinical (a division of ICON plc) as an Instructional Design Specialist and Senior Instructional Designer. In this role, they served as an instructional design domain expert in a cross-functional Continuous Improvement Team, combining instructional design expertise with those of graphic design, clinical trial subject matter expert, quality, project management, and continuous improvement specialists. Maedhbh also met all training requirements of the Instructional Design group and led lean/six sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
In 2015, Maedhbh Scanlon moved to Teckro, where they served as a Product Manager and Director of Information Design. Most recently, they have been a Product Owner at Kneat Solutions since 2021.
Maedhbh Scanlon began their educational journey in 1996 when they obtained a BSc in Experimental Physics from the University of Galway. Maedhbh then went on to earn a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, 2.1 from University College Dublin in 2003. In 2009, Maedhbh Scanlon earned a Master's Degree in eLearning Design and Development from the University of Limerick. Additionally, they hold a FETAC/VEC Certificate in Active Learning Methodologies.
