Murray Hess started their career as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy in 1979 and served in various roles, including commanding officer of USS Exultant and Fleet User Rep for CINCLANTFLT on the JSIMS development team. Murray then worked at TRW Computers as a computer systems analyst from 1999 to 2005, where they were responsible for implementing simulation architectures supporting the training of NORTHERN Command and the Central Command staff. From 2005 to 2014, they worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation as a Network Services Manager and Military Trainer, overseeing the communications and simulation federation architectures supporting training for the combatant commanders worldwide. Since 2014, they have been working at Knight Federal Solutions as a Program Manager, responsible for the technical training of Joint Staff J7 personnel and major combatant commanders. Murray manages 32 technical personnel and contract support activities as a sub-contractor to the prime. Murray also supports the Joint Knowledge Online help desk as a sub to NGTS.
Murray Hess earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas in 1979. Murray went on to earn a Master's degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Golden Gate University in 1998. Between 1988 and 1990, Murray obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance from Troy University.
