Erik Hanberg has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Erik started their career in 2004 as the Managing Director of The Grand Cinema, where they successfully managed the theater's operations, implemented business systems, and led major fundraising campaigns. Erik then served as the Alumni Director at Bellarmine Preparatory, where they coordinated reunion experiences, made major gift asks, and oversaw the alumni magazine.

In 2006, Erik co-founded Exit133.com and Suite133, serving as a partner and co-owner in both ventures. Erik also became the owner of The Horatio Theater during this time. In 2009, they founded Erik Hanberg Publishing, specializing in working with nonprofits as an author, consultant, speaker, facilitator, and instructor.

Erik's other notable roles include serving as the Executive Director of City Club of Tacoma, where they led strategic planning, event planning, membership, and fundraising efforts. Erik was also an Elected Commissioner for Metro Parks Tacoma for over 12 years, contributing to board governance.

In 2012, Erik became the Owner and Content Marketer at Side x Side Creative, leading branding and strategic processes for clients. Lastly, they joined KNKX Public Radio in 2019, initially as the Marketing Manager and then transitioning to the role of Director of Audience Development.

Throughout their career, Erik has demonstrated strong leadership skills, expertise in nonprofit governance and fundraising, and a passion for community engagement and strategic planning.

Erik Hanberg completed their Bachelor's degree in English at Carleton College from 1998 to 2002. In 2000, they attended the Sea Education Association for a brief period, where they studied Oceanography, Nautical Science, and Literature of the Sea. Before attending college, Erik Hanberg graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory in 1998, but the field of study and the degree obtained from this institution are not specified.
