Marcus Derencius

Marcus Derencius has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering industry. From 1999 to 2019, they have worked for several companies including Looking4.net, Elucid S/A, Politec Ltda, Balance Consulting, TCS - Tata Consultancy Services, Surgework LLC, The Starter League, Doximity, and Know Your Team.

At Looking4.net, Marcus was an IT Leader and Web Developer. At Elucid S/A, they were a Coordenador de Sistemas Web and was responsible for leading a four-person development team, setting up Red Hat and Debian Linux servers, and migrating the corporate content management system from Coldfusion to PHP. At Politec Ltda, they were a System Analyst and worked onsite in Jacksonville, FL for information gathering, measuring applications with Function Points, Use Case elaboration, and initiating migration of the system to Brazil. At Balance Consulting, they were an IT Coordinator. At TCS - Tata Consultancy Services, they were an Estimation Analyst. At Surgework LLC, they were a Ruby on Rails Developer and eventually became the team leader of a group of five developers. At The Starter League, they were a Software Engineer and was mainly responsible for building and keeping LanternHQ running. At Doximity, they were a Web Developer. Lastly, at Know Your Team, they are currently a Senior Software Engineer.

Marcus Derencius began their educational journey in 1994 when they attended COTIL - Colégio Técnico de Limeira da Unicamp where they earned a Colégio Técnico degree in Processamento de Dados. Marcus then moved on to Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo where they completed a Bachelor degree in Business Management in 2004. In 2007, they obtained a CPFS certification from BFPUG - Brazilian Function Point Users Group.
