Elissavet Chartampila

Elissavet (Liza) Chartampila currently serves as Editor in Chief at Knowing Neurons while also holding roles as Senior Editor and Contributing Editor since 2022. Simultaneously, Liza is a PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a consultant for CGsquared - Carolina Graduate Consulting Group, both roles commenced in 2021. Liza’s previous experience includes serving as a Clinton Global Initiative University Fellow from 2022 to 2023, and working as a research assistant at New York University from June 2018 to May 2021 and at Washington and Lee University from September 2014 to May 2018, under the supervision of various esteemed faculty members. Liza was also recognized as a recipient of the Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Grant for efforts related to Greece's refugee crisis, involving collaboration with NGOs and community engagement. Liza earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences and Philosophy from Washington and Lee University (2014-2018) and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2021-2026).
