Sherif Hussein is a seasoned professional in the architecture and development sector, currently serving as Senior Development Manager - Hospitality at Knowledge Economic City since November 2016. With a robust background encompassing roles such as Development Manager and Design Manager at Conception X, Sherif contributed to a venture program that assists PhDs in launching deep tech startups. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Project Architect - Design Manager at Saudi Binladin Group, where key achievements involved management of significant projects like the Makkah & Madinah Holy Mosque Expansion. Sherif also held leadership roles at Earth Architecture & Planning and Dar Al Handasah, focusing on design coordination and project management. Academic qualifications include a Doctorate of Business Administration from Durham University, a Master of Science from Oxford Brookes University, and a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering from Cairo University.

Knowledge Economic City (KEC) is a publically listed company that was established for the purpose of developing and managing the delivery of the Knowledge Economic City Project. The company was formally public listed in in the Saudi Stock Market in August 2010 following a successful IPO earlier that year. KEC is strategically located in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah (Madinah), home of the Prophet Mohammed P.B.U.H and where the Holy Qur’an was compiled. Millions of Muslims from all over the world visit Madinah during the Hajj season as well as Umrah season. KEC was first announced in June 2006 as one of 4 economic cities envisioned to support the Kingdom’s drive towards economic diversity and job creation.
