Rachel Wells

Rachel Wells is an experienced project manager and communication specialist with a diverse background in public engagement and strategic partnerships. Currently serving as a Senior Project Manager for State Implementation at KnowledgeWorks since October 2019, Rachel has previously held roles including Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Development. Rachel's experience includes serving as a Public Engagement Specialist at Duke Energy, where efforts focused on enhancing public understanding of electric transmission projects, and as Communication Coordinator at Sanitation District No. 1, developing strategies to communicate complex technical information to customers. Rachel began their career in journalism, holding reporting positions at The Pantagraph, Illinois Times, and Breeze-Courier, where in-depth investigations into government and regulatory processes were conducted. Rachel holds a Master of Arts in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Bradley University.
