Knowles Teacher Initiative
Christy Kim is a dedicated Science Teacher currently employed at Los Angeles Unified School District, with experience teaching a variety of science subjects including Biology, AP Biology, and Physiology. Christy engages in curriculum development in alignment with NGSS and collaborates with nonprofits to enhance classroom experiences. In addition to teaching, Christy serves as a Teaching Fellow with the Knowles Teacher Initiative and has contributed as an AP Reader for the College Board. Prior roles include tutoring, volunteering, and serving as an AmeriCorps member with City Year Los Angeles, where significant service hours were dedicated to supporting elementary students in literacy and math. Christy holds a Master's of Education and a Teacher's Credential from UCLA, as well as a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics.
