Knowles Teacher Initiative
Sarosha Hemani is an experienced educator and researcher with a background in biology and neuroscience. Currently serving as an Assistant Cheer Coach and Biology Teacher at Central Falls School District since August 2021, Sarosha teaches classes in Biology, Environment and Society, as well as Biomedical and Engineering CTE. In addition, Sarosha is a Knowles Fellow through the Knowles Teacher Initiative, a position held since May 2022. Prior experiences include roles as a Student Teacher at Central Falls School District, a Tutor at Eyelevel Learning Center, and a Paralegal at Zara Ali and Associates, PLLC. Sarosha also coordinated participant pools and conducted research on the effects of cocaine on AMPA/NMDA receptors during time spent as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Trinity University, presenting findings at the Society for Neuroscience Conference. Sarosha holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Science Education from Brown University and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Trinity University.
