Matthew Foretich

Matthew Foretich is an experienced data and media science professional currently serving as Partner and Vice President at Known since March 2020, where previous roles included Director of Media Science and Manager of Data Science. Prior to this, Matthew worked as a Data Scientist at schireson from September 2018 to March 2020 and participated in a Data Science Fellowship at Insight Data Science in summer 2018. Notably, during the fellowship, a predictive model for hit songs on Spotify was developed using natural language processing, achieving over 80% accuracy. Early career experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science from 2012 to 2017, where Matthew created image processing pipelines and tracking software to enhance data collection and analysis. Educational credentials include a PhD in Marine Biology and Ecology from the University of Miami and a B.S. in Ecology from The University of Georgia.
