Adam Alfrey is an experienced professional in museum and historical services, currently serving as the Assistant Director for Historical Services at Knox County Public Library since April 2006. Responsible for directing the East Tennessee History Center, Alfrey oversees a diverse array of interpretive projects, including multiple exhibitions annually and a major signature exhibition. As a Humanities Scholar with Humanities Tennessee since December 2011, Alfrey conducts assessments and provides guidance on museum management and exhibition design. Previous roles include working as an Exhibition and Model Preparator at the University of Tennessee and an internship at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Alfrey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Tennessee and completed the Leadership Institute at the Southeastern Museums Conference in 2020.
