Christopher Layton

Assistant Principal at Knox County Schools

Christopher Layton currently serves as the Assistant Principal for Knox County Virtual School since July 2020. Previously, Christopher held the position of Vice Principal at Oak Ridge Schools from August 2010 to July 2020, where responsibilities included curriculum leadership and promoting STEM education. Christopher's teaching experience spans several roles, including teaching 6th and 7th grade Social Studies, US History, and Physical Education at various institutions, as well as coaching in football and serving as a STEM coach. Prior to entering education, Christopher worked in marketing at Elite Roofing of Nashville. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Maryville College.
