Janelle Cox BA, COC, CPC, CPCO, CPMA, CDEO, CPB, CMBS has a diverse range of work experience. Janelle started their career as a Co Pastor at Canisteo Valley Assembly of God from January 1985 to August 2010. Janelle then worked as a Hospital Scheduler at St. James Mercy Hospital from August 2003 to December 2013. Janelle also worked as a College Instructor at Corning Community College from December 2013 to July 2014. From July 2015 to February 2017, they held the role of Lead coder at Generations Ob Gyn. Janelle then worked as the Head of Department at National College of Business from July 2015 to December 2017. In 2017, Janelle joined KCBC, where they initially served as a Revenue Management Specialist, responsible for revitalizing the revenue cycle, monitoring compliance, and ensuring correct credentialing, fees, and contracts. Janelle later became the Revenue Manager at KCBC. Since December 2017, Janelle has been working as the Manager of Revenue Management at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics.

Janelle obtained their Bachelor's degree in Religion/Religious Studies from Central Bible College from 1979 to 1983. In 2012, they attended the Certified Medical Billing Association and received a certification as a Certified Medical Billing Specialist in the field of Medical Insurance Specialist/Medical Biller.

From 2012 to 2013, Janelle furthered their medical coding knowledge by obtaining certification as a Certified Outpatient Coder from AAPC. In 2014, they pursued additional certification from AAPC and became a Certified Professional Coder specializing in Medical Coding.

In 2018, Janelle attended AAPC and earned a certification as a Certified Professional Compliance Officer, focusing on Medical Insurance Coding Specialist/Coder. Recently, in 2019, they pursued further expertise in Medical Documentation and became a Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient, again through AAPC.
