Knoxville Symphony Orchestra
Edward Pulgar is a highly experienced violinist with a distinguished career in orchestras. Currently serving as the Principal Second Violinist for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra since 2009, Edward has held prominent positions including Assistant Principal Second Violin at the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra from 2000 to 2003, and Section 1st Violin with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela between 1996 and 1999. Edward began as Concertmaster for the Zulia State Symphony Orchestra from 1993 to 1996. In terms of education, Edward earned a Master’s degree in Violin Performance from Michigan State University (2003-2005) and an Artist Diploma in Violin Performance from Duquesne University (1999-2001), in addition to training at the Latin American Violin Academy from 1996 to 1998.

Formally established in 1935, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra reaches more than 200,000 children and adults each year by performing in the traditional venues of the Tennessee and Bijou Theatres, Knoxville Civic Auditorium, and in non-traditional places like school classrooms, hospitals, city parks, and churches.
